Holiday Dog Parade and Fundraiser Success

What a fabulous turnout we had for our first ever Shippan Point Holiday Dog Parade and Fundraiser this morning! The community really came together to bond over their love of their furry friends. We estimate about 50 dogs were in attendance!

Head over to our Flickr album if you want to see pics from the event, and please email us at if you have any photos to share.

HUGE shout out to Saira Hopper for creating and organizing the inaugural dog parade and to Dayann and Russell Liner for letting us use their front yard as our party central. You guys rock!

Also, many thanks to:
  • Pet Pantry Warehouse and Petco for their extremely generous donations of dog treats and swag
  • Caitlin Campbell for securing a donation from Nestlé Waters.
  • Georgea Pasedis for arranging a donation of yummy donuts from Elm Street Diner.
  • Emma Wiegand from the Emergency Department of the Cornell University Veterinary Specialists for providing information on dangerous foods for your dogs (email us if you want details about this topic)
  • Our Lady Star of the Sea for lending us their coffee urns.
  • Head Coach Nyasha Watkin and the Stamford High School Cheerleaders for volunteering bright and early this morning.
  • All the people who donated over $1000 to the STARelief Fundraisers to help pets in need.
  • And finally, everyone who showed up! It was a fabulous morning. Bonus points to anyone who noticed that the entire playlist was songs about dogs!

Let us know if you’re interested in a Spring or Summer Neighborhood Dog Walk or Parade. We could perhaps make this a semi-annual event if there is enough interest!
